PCUSA's Sixth Big Tent

Join Presbyterians from far and wide at this event held in off years of the General Assembly. The theme for this year is “Called to a Movement Beyond Institution,” which will emphasize our hope in the Gospel and its power to challenge institutional conventions. It is also the theme for the 224th General Assembly. The goal is to come together and live in this moment, immersed in our current cultural context of racial division, gender inequality, and economic disparity to be renewed, refreshed and reformed, so that we may be sent out to impact change in our own communities.

Registration for children and youth is now closed, but general registration remains open. Click on the image above for more information about Big Tent and to register.

“May We Forever Stand”
Massachusetts Commemorates 400 Years of Black Resiliency

2019 marks 400 years since the first enslaved Africans set foot in Jamestown, Virginia. Since then, Black communities have demonstrated remarkable resiliency in the face of cruelty, terror, and systematic oppression. Through it all, the Black Church has endured as a beacon of hope and testimony to resurrection. On September 20, 2019, the Massachusetts Council of Churches will convene a night of worship to honor ancestors, commemorate 400 years of resiliency, and pray for an end to systemic and racial injustice. They are encouraging every denomination to turn out 100 people for the joint ecumenical worship service.

KCB Short Term Mission trip

This summer, the Korean Church of Boston will commission a short term mission team to New Mexico from July 27 to August 3. Since 2016, KCB has been sending short-term mission teams to assist the ministry of Rev. Duk Jae Lee, a missionary and educator who has been serving the Navajo community in New Mexico for over 15 years. This year’s mission team members include 26 youths, college students, teachers, Kwonsas (senior deacons), and elders.

They ask for prayers during their mission, which you can learn more about by clicking the image above to read an article about the trip written by Deacon Haewon Lee.
