Thinking about Death
Cindy Spring, Presenter
Worship Associate Joseph Kelaghan
We are all going to die, that’s a given, but we don’t know when or how. In our society we seldom talk about death and few people plan their last days or their Memorial Services. Why is that? Many of us will die in hospitals or in our homes. Who do we want with us? What music would we like to hear? What songs or hymns would we choose for our Service? Which readings? I haven’t spent time thinking about this, but I just turned 72 and it seems like a good time to do so ~ what about you?

Reflections on Baratunde Thurston’s TED Talk on Living While Black
Suzanne M Gaulocher Ph D, MPH, Assistant Professor of Public Health, Associate Director, Center for Healthy Communities, Plymouth State University, Presenter
Worship Associate Nancy Chaddock
About the TED: Baratunde Thurston explores the phenomenon of white Americans calling the police on black Americans who have committed the crimes of ... eating, walking or generally “living while black.” In this profound, thought-provoking and often hilarious talk, he reveals the power of language to change stories of trauma into stories of healing -- while challenging us all to level up. Come and watch to discuss this here and now issue.

WE NEED YOU !! HERE’S HOW YOU CAN HELP:
· Do a dig through your house & bring a box - or two, or ten –to Fellowship with your cast off treasures. If your yard sale items are not in your way at home, keep them until Got Lunch is finished in mid August when we will have more room for storage. If you need them out of your way be-fore then, drop them off during office hours or on Sunday mornings in room 1 or the nursery. There will be signs.
· Help with marking goods and organizing the sale, starting on August 26. It’s a great way to get to know Members and Friends! Watch the e-newsletter for details.
