Paid Internship Program
for Ontario Magazines


Magazines Canada is pleased to announce the launch of the 2019 Paid Internship Program for Ontario Magazines. This program is designed to connect Ontario-based, Magazines Canada members with new, skilled talent, and to provide emerging creators with the paid work experience, job training, mentorship and networking opportunities they need to build careers in the magazine sector. 

Enrollment in the Paid Internship Program for Ontario Magazines is limited to 10 magazines, each hiring one paid intern for any consecutive four-month period that runs between July 2019 and February 28, 2020. Magazines Canada members in good standing that publish an Ontario-based magazine are invited to apply.

Applications will be assessed on a “first come, first served basis.” We encourage you to submit your application as early as possible to secure a place in the program.

Exhibitor and/or Advertiser Applications for The Word on the Street Toronto are Due Today! 


Join the Word On The Street, Canada's largest book and magazine fair, as it celebrates its 30th year. The Word On The Street (WOTS) provides publishers, big and small, the opportunity to meet readers face to face. WOTS heads to Toronto September 21–22, 2019. The deadline to book space in the Exhibitor Marketplace is today, July 15.

Please see the WOTS Exhibitor and Advertiser Registration Package which outlines all of the details you need to know before you fill out the Registration Form. You can also e-mail the WOTS team at exhibitors@thewordonthestreet.ca with any questions.

  • The Canada Periodical Fund - Aid to Publishers component is changing. You can access a preliminary view of these changes here.   • The #MagazineMoment newsletter is back! The newsletter is a part of our Discovery project; helping readers discover the best magazines Canada has to offer. Subscribe to the newsletter here.
 
  • The Creation Accelerator is now accepting applications. Eligibility criteria can be found here. Applications for phase 1 are due October 16, 2019.

That's why Canadian Geographic and Recycling Council of Ontario have partnered to launch Canada's commitment to rethink plastics through 10,000 Changes, an innovative plastic engagement program funded by the Government of Canada.
