FINANCIAL REPORT
Expenses for the month of June are on track for the operating budget.

The gallery had a windfall of an extra $623 in commissions for the month as a result of Connie Cassinetto’s generosity in having the Aloft process her husband Jack’s paintings from the fund raiser held at the Opera Hall on June 8th.  Thanks to Connie for letting us be a part of this.

Our Sales were $15,357.90 for the month of which 12,050.00 were from Jack’s sales. We still sold $3,308 from the gallery for the month.
CHANGE OUT

The Change out will be on Tuesday, July 30th for 2D art from 9 am – noon and the ceramists and jewelers will change out on Monday, July 29th.
Life is Sweet
Garden Party
Miniatures Auction

The auction will feature pieces by local artists and the artists will receive a commission on their work. We hope you will all want to create something "small" for this event!

As inspiration, TCA would like to offer an educational component to this upcoming event by way of offering a  class in "the creation of art miniatures." They are in the process of seeking a teacher (s) for this event.

The class would cost $5 to attend. If you are interested in attending please reach out to them at info@tuolumnecountyarts.org

You may not be interested in the class but PLEASE think about supporting our Art Partner Tuolumne County Arts by submitting an entry. Entry is free!

Here is the call to entry with the simple rules for the show!
PGE BILL
The electric bill has been creeping up every month. Discussions will be held with PG&E to see how we can mitigate the usage during Peak hours when the pricing is the highest.  Right now, if the fluorescents could be kept off, we will see if that helps costs.  We are a part of the Peak Day Pricing Plans and on those days we may need to turn the fans off as well from 2 pm until 4 pm.
CHECK OUT PROCEDURE
Everyone is doing a good job with the sales slips.  We have some suggestions that we hope the members will pay attention to:
  1. Calls will not be made to the artist for card sales.  The sales slip will not be copied and included with the check to the artist if the sale is from cards.  Also, if the check is for less than $10, it will be placed in the artists file in the desk drawer and the artist will be notified.
  2. PLEASE staple the credit card slip to the BACK of the sales slip as when copies are made if they are on the front, it requires the Treasurer to take them apart and staple it to the back.
  3. Remember, WHITE copy in bank bag, yellow to customer and pink stays in the book.
  4. If Sales Slips are VOIDED, mark the sales slips VOID and place the white copy in the bank bag.  We track the sales slip numbers.
  5. Remember to put the artist bios from the gray top drawer file into the bag with sold items.  Jewelry wrap and boxes have been placed in the bottom drawer of the gray file cabinet.
PUBLICITY UPDATE
  • Website has been updated. Take a look. Send photos or text if you would like your page updated in any way!
  • The Sonora Chamber of Commerce magazine has been published with the Aloft participating in a group ad for a mere $25 for two editions. It is on the inside front cover – premium placement!
  • An impressive spread of our gallery "Artists in the Window" was in the Weekender.  We continue to get good coverage in the newspaper and are VERY GRATEFUL FOR THAT!
  • Laurie published the Snap Shot to customers who have given us their email address. It is an informative and special look at our gallery and art in general.
GALLERY UPDATES
  • Lorna took the hanging sign down from the front and refurbished and refreshed it.
  • Lorna has ordered new Aloft Business cards and they are on the back table for member use.
  • Lorna will be photographing people’s work after change out for a new brochure.  If you have objections, you should let her know.
GIVING BACK
Margie at Legends has generously allowed the Board to meet in her establishment every month for the Board meeting.  She recently fell and broke her kneecap so the Board will take her a plant and get well card ($25 value) on 2nd Saturday.
