As Lee and Sri continue to “trot the globe” in pursuit of all things musical, we are excited to tell you about their latest expedition to Denver, CO to visit Stephen Ambrose of Asius Technologies, home of the Ambrose Diaphonic Ear Lens (ADEL™). Fifty years ago, Stephen invented the world's first wireless In-Ear Monitor technology (IEMs). A professional musician at age 12, Stephen began modifying swimmer's earplugs with tiny speakers and clay to form the first In-Ear Monitor in 1965. After the design was perfected, he toured with many performers such as Stevie Wonder, Simon & Garfunkel and many others who depend on in-ear to hear their own voices and other musicians over the crowd, and also prevent hearing loss.
Lee met Stephen more than 40 years ago in connection with a microphone product that Stephen was inventing. Recently, when Lee was searching for new ear monitors, he was pleasantly surprised to find Stephen’s name once again. And with Sri’s desire to restore her hearing loss in both ears (90% in one ear and 50% in the other), there was another very important reason for the recent trip to Denver to seek a solution.
Sri comments that her visit to Asius HQ was the “most indescribable, life- altering experience” she’s ever had! In her words, “I heard music on the level that I feel music every day (There is no comparison between these two senses)”. While there, Lee and Sri even had the chance to see some prototypes that we we hear are being designed for Brian Johnson of AC/DC. Stay Tuned!!!!
