Strong Inside Out turns 8 today!!! I can't believe our little movement has been alive 8 whole years! Here's how you can get in on the party with me...

THIS WEEK'S INTENTION:

CELEBRATE WHO YOU'VE BECOME

It's been 8 whole years since I started Strong Inside Out, and man have we come a long way. We started out as a fitness blog with a side of mental health talk and have become SO much more. Here's just a taste of what's happened over the past 8 years:
  • In 2013, I crowdfunded over $18,000 for our first tour, The 30x30 Project, to spread the word of hope and raise money for To Write Love On Her Arms. Then, I traveled to 30 cities in the US and Canada to teach my hope-spiring bootcamp and tell my story!
  • I did it again in 2014 with the Strong Inside Out Tour by raising over $9k and traveling to 9 cities across the US!
  • I became an elite fitness instructor for Cyberobics in 2016, and went on to become the fitness star who doesn't diet.
  • Went back into eating disorder recovery and blew my bullshit wide open.
  • We shifted Strong Inside Out to be a safe, supportive space for people who are OVER the performance health regime, and ready to embrace individual health (skip the shame and metrics, thanks).
  • I had a baby!!! Maya turns 7 months today. :)
As you can see, a lot has changed. I'm a completely different person than I was 8 years ago, and that's something to celebrate. Won't you join me?

SIO is all about YOU and helping you make the changes in your health that you wanna make. So today, in celebration of our birthday, celebrate YOURSELF!

Take a real moment to celebrate who you've become. Who are you now that you've started taking steps forward in your individual health?

Will you let me help you celebrate your totally awesome self?! There's a new post up on our Instagram, and I'd love it if you commented on it with what you're celebrating today.

Comment on our Instagram post with a quality you're proud to rock!

Choose one descriptor that tells us who you've become over the past few years thanks to your steps forward in individual health. Here are some of mine:

Now I want to hear from you. Who do we have the privilege of saying is a part of our movement? Let us know here! (More of a Facebook person? Comment here!)

When you write it, let it really soak in. You deserve to revel in it!

Welcome to the VIP section, babe! This is where I share my fav finds, happenings and thoughts from the week. Here's what's up in my world now:

PRIDE - This last weekend was the Pride parade here in San Diego and it's always such a love- and joy-filled event. Being able to celebrate love in all forms is always a huge YES for me! AND I got to bring Maya this time. Watching her take in all the Love was such a delight!

Jump Rope - I'm just now getting back into jump roping for the first time since I injured my knee a year and a half ago. It's...humbling. ;) I used to be able to do double-unders like no one's business, but now I'm happy if I get 2 in a row out. A few years ago, I would have beat myself up for not being able to do them like I used to. This time around, I'm practicing deep gratitude for the ability to jump rope at all. Yay for healed injuries and simple, fun movement solutions!

Feeding Maya - Woof. I knew this day was coming, but there's a lot I didn't know was coming with it. Maya started solid foods last week and along with the excitement and overwhelming cuteness, there's a lot more happening that meets the eye (and I'm proud of how I'm doing with it). There is so much conflicting information available for what to feed Maya and how (just like there is for adults), so I've settled into the commitment to do the best we can with the information we have. It has the potential to bring up a lot of my old perfectionistic ED thoughts and restrictions, but I'm being very conscious about it, reminding myself that informed intentionality in balance is the best we can do for her–physically and emotionally.
