Manav Human Atlas Project
The Manav Human Atlas Project is a collaboration between IISER Pune, Persistent Systems, and the National Centre for Cell Science. Funded by the Department of Biotechnology, this project aims to construct a comprehensive map of the entire human body which will explicitly document macro to micro level information. More

Centre of Excellence in Flow Cytometry 

Launched at IISER Pune in collaboration with BD Life Sciences-Biosciences, the Centre will help train the region’s current and future scientists on high-speed cell sorting and flow cytometry analyses. More

Grand Finale of Smart India Hackathon 2019 (Hardware Edition) 
IISER Pune, along with CSIR-NCL, was one of the 19 centres across India for the grand finale of this national competition initiated by the MHRD for innovative solutions in product development. Twenty-five teams with a total of 173 students participated in this event. More

Nature Index Normalized Tables
IISERs, as a group of institutions, are ranked 24 by the 2019 Normalized Nature Index Annual Tables for Top 100 academic institutions. The normalized ranking shows an institution's top quality output (in the Nature Index list of ~80 journals) as a proportion of the institution's total output in the natural sciences (obtained from the Dimensions database). More

Times Higher Education Young University Rankings
IISER Pune has been ranked among the top 101-150 Young Universities in the world in the 2019 Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings. More


Prof. L.S. Shashidhara has been elected as President of the International Union of Biological Sciences (IUBS). The announcement was made at the centenary year General Assembly of the Union that took place at Oslo, Norway in August 2019, where the new Executive Council of the Union was chosen. More

Dr. Siddhesh Kamat has been awarded the Young Scientist Medal of the Indian National Science Academy (INSA), New Delhi for 2019. Dr. Kamat's group studies biological processes involved in lipid signaling and metabolism. More

Three IISER Pune students are among those selected for the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship (PMRF). The list of selected students has been announced in July 2019. More

A team of undergraduate students along with their PhD student mentors has been awarded a competitive grant from the Indian Biological Engineering Competition (iBEC), Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India for their proposal on environmental bioremediation. More
