CITY LAUNCHES VISION ZERO PLANNING PROCESS
CINCINNATI – The City of Cincinnati has officially launched its Vision Zero planning process. Vision Zero is a data-driven strategy to eliminate all traffic-related deaths and severe injuries, while increasing safe, healthy, equitable mobility for all.

The City is currently collecting community input and will compare it to citywide crash data and speed data. The goal is to develop a robust set of recommendations for improving pedestrian safety. These recommendations will be broken down into three categories: Education, Enforcement and Engineering.

Residents who want to be involved in this process should visit www.cincinnati-oh.gov/visionzero. There, residents can learn more about Vision Zero, read recent news about specific pedestrian safety initiatives, and provide input on traffic safety in Cincinnati. The website currently includes three ways to provide input:
  • a school zone survey, to share thoughts on traffic safety around schools;
  • a citywide survey, to share thoughts on traffic safety generally;
  • an interactive map that allows users to pinpoint specific geographic areas of concern.
The surveys will be open through August 31.
