Preserving a Legacy of Godliness

Greetings!
This month we will be looking at an important issue regarding legacy. What is legacy? It is what we leave our children, grandchildren or the next generation. As Kingdom citizens, we should be concerned with what is being left to the next generation. So, this lesson is titled “Preserving a Legacy of Godliness”.
We should be concerned with what is taking place in society right now. God is holding us responsible for doing what we can to preserve a godly legacy.

Matthew 18:6 NET & HCSB
"But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a huge millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the open sea.”

"But whoever causes the downfall of one of these little ones who believe in Me--it would be better for him if a heavy millstone were hung around his neck and he were drowned in the depths of the sea!”

Matthew 18:10 BSB & 14 ESV
“See that you do not look down on any of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven”… “So it is not the will of my Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish.”

This subject is dear to my heart. Today in society, there is an onslaught of destruction aimed at our children. As if drugs, gangs, sex trafficking and violence were not enough, now there is an attack on their minds to erase any vestige of innocence or virtue.

We have to take a stand and raise our children based on God’s Word, not what is popular in culture. There are several scriptures listed below to encourage you to continue to share the truth of God’s Word with your children and grandchildren in order to combat the lies of the enemy. Stand strong on God’s Word!

Proverbs 22:6 GWT
Romans 3:4 DRB
Deuteronomy 4:9 NHEB
Deuteronomy 11:18-19 BSB
Genesis 18:19 KJV
Matthew 7:21 CEV
Luke 13:24 ESV
Matthew 7:13-14 NLT
1 Timothy 1:9-10 NLT
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 NLT
2 Timothy 4:3 NIV
Revelation 21:8 GNT
Revelation 21:27 BSB
Psalm 100:5 KJV
Questions

1. Are you standing boldly based on God's Word or have you caved into the current culture?

2. Are you teaching your children or those you have influence over God's Word?

3. Do you pray for those in authority over your children and others?

4. Do you recognize the spiritual blindness in the current culture?

5. Are you bringing the culture of Heaven wherever you go?

Word to the Wise

Well, we are past the half-way point for the year. So far, this year has been one of challenges and forward movement. Despite the obstacles that may have come your way, make sure that you are staying encouraged. Remember that God has great plans for your life.
Jeremiah 29:11; Psalm 40:5

Remember to encourage others as you go along your life journey. Whatever you have learned from your experiences and whatever wisdom you have gleaned are considered fruit. We do not eat our own fruit. Our fruit is produced to feed others. Become that godly resource for other people. Believe it or not, there are still people in the world who do want to live for God. They need your encouragement and example!
