Just a quick update concerning our recent workshops in Latin America before I leave for Peru tomorrow....

ECUADOR. I recently returned from my first trip to Guayaquil, Ecuador the week of June 16-22. It was well-received by a group of pastors and leaders some of whom serve an indigenous church of the Quichua People of South America. This workshop was coordinated by father and son Pastors Lorenzo and Juan Jimenez. More on this trip in a later report.
Guayaquil, Ecuador
PERU. As I said, I leave for Lima, Peru tomorrow (Sunday) evening for the fourth workshop during the week of July 15-21 coordinated by Pastor Reynaldo Rubio. I injured my left knee a couple weeks ago while helping move our son James to New York, and I'm still limping. So I ask you to keep me in your prayers this week.
Lima, Peru
CUBA. The following week, I plan to travel to Buffalo, NY for a day (July 25) to meet with Pastor Ariandys Aguiar, the workshop coordinator from Palmira, Cuba, where Beth and I have each taught one workshop. At this time, I am not able to re-enter the country because of tensions between our two nations. So I'm planning to train him to teach the remaining three workshops.
Palmira, (south central) Cuba
CHILE. One of our National Missionary Partners, Helmuth Aguilar, taught the first three Timothy Two workshops in two cities in southern Chile in June. Notice that they are wearing coats - it's winter down there right now!  More on this in a future newsletter.
Osorno and Llanquihue, Chile
HAITI. Because of violent protests in and around the capital of Haiti, I am not able to return at this time. So I am planning to send the fourth workshop material to coordinator, Pastor Lucien Joseph, as soon as the French translation is completed, so that he can teach the final workshop to these pastors and leaders.
Jacmel, (southwestern) Haiti
COLOMBIA. Next month, I plan to go to Cartagena, Colombia for the first time for a workshop during the week of August 15-21.
Many, many thanks for your continued prayers, encouragement and financial support!

None of our "going" would be possible without your "sending" us as the early churches sent their missionaries:
  • with their prayers - "Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off." (Acts 13:3);
  • with their help and fellowship - "I hope to see you in passing as I go to Spain, and to be helped on my journey there by you, once I have enjoyed your company for a while." (Romans 15:24); and,
  • with their giving - "Even in Thessalonica you sent me help for my needs once and again." (Philippians 4:16)
We are thankful for the many ways you "send" us so that we can "go" in the name of Christ to our needy - and grateful - brothers and sisters in Latin America.

From our family to you,

Dan and Beth

Prayer Requests:

1. For additional monthly donor-partners - 30 individuals or families at $50/month or the equivalent, in order to fully fund us to continue equipping ministry leaders in Latin America.

2. For donations to the fund for our National Missionary Partners in Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, Peru, Chile, El Salvador and Belize. They can teach workshops for 1/3 of the cost of sending a USA-based missionary. $45 provides one workshop for one pastor. $450 provides one workshop for 10-12 pastors. $1,800 provides a complete series of four workshops for 10-12 pastors.
