Welcome our new National Spokesperson, former Florida Lt. Governor, Jennifer Carroll
Washington, D.C. — Our nations Independence Day is upon us and the time is fitting to reflect on the accomplishments and advancements of this great nation. One of those reflections is how far our nation has come to embracing and including women in the work place and in government. As we celebrate women in 2019, Maggie’s List is excited to announce that former Florida Lieutenant Governor Jennifer Carroll will be the new National Spokesperson for the organization.

Jennifer emigrated with her parents from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago at the age of eight.  She and her family assimilated in the United States and embraced the opportunities afforded them. Jennifer is no stranger to challenges and adversity having to adapt to a new culture as a young child, to joining the Navy as a jet mechanic in a field that was male dominated and unwelcoming at the time. She worked hard and ascended to higher heights when she received a commission and after 20 years retired as a highly decorated Navy Lieutenant Commander.

Jennifer gives credit to her training and experience in the armed forces for her successes in government. She was the first black Republican female elected to the Florida legislature and as Florida’s Lieutenant Governor.

“My accomplishments in the military, in government and serving on many non-profit boards has been my way of giving back to a nation that embraced my family and opened doors that may not have been,” states Jennifer. “My role as a national spokeperson for Maggie’s List is to encourage conservative women to take the challenge and run for congress and help further expand diversity among the congressional ranksfor us to have a truerepresentative government.

This Independence Day I hope all citizens and those who adopted the United States as their home, would give appreciation for the liberty and freedom so many take for granted, said Jennifer. I know for many the struggles still exists, but I believe the work of Maggie’s List in its support of conservative women running and elected to congress will help bring about greater opportunities, improvements and independence,” continues Carroll.

“Maggie’s List is ecstatic to have a mom, grandmother, Veteran, former legislator, former Lt. Governor and Maggie’s List Founding Member as our National Spokesperson. She has done it all with honor, grace and integrity. There is no one more qualified than Jennifer to do this job of advancing the compassionate conservative cause to elect more women in government,” states Maggie’s List National Chair, Sandra Mortham.

Maggie's List Endorses Rosemary Becchi for New Jersey's
7th Congressional District

A Leading Tax Policy Lawyer Ready to Make a Difference in New Jersey

Washington, D.C. — Maggie’s List, a federal political action committee (PAC) dedicated to electing fiscally conservative women to federal office and statewide executive office, is proud to announce the endorsement of Rosemary Becchi for New Jersey’s 7th Congressional district.

As a candidate for Congress, Rosemary brings valuable, first-hand experience in both public policy and the law. She has spent her career working on the front lines of policy and regulatory matters, developing collaborative relationships with key leaders in both chambers of Congress, the Treasury Department, the Securities Exchange Commission, the Federal Reserve Board and other federal and state agencies as well as industry and trade associations.Rosemary also has been a political advocate both on the national and local level. She has authored multiple commentary pieces on tax and financial services issues. She has served in a leadership role of the Tax Coalition, including serving as the chair. Most recently, Rosemary was Chairman of the Board of Running Start, an organization dedicated to getting more women elected to public office.

“Rosemary Becchi is a proven leader who has brought so much to Maggie’s List and New Jersey,” states Sandra B. Mortham, Chairman of Maggie’s List and former elected Florida Secretary of State. “Her service as our NJ state chair, coupled with her relentless leadership and desire to work on issues that directly impact citizens and businesses in the Garden State, makes her the right choice. We know that Rosemary will not only make an amazing representative, but will make a lasting, positive impact on New Jersey.”

“I’m deeply honored by this early and strong support from the conservative women behind Maggie’s List.  My goal from the beginning, in founding Jersey First nearly two years ago and now as a declared candidate for New Jersey’s District 7 Congressional seat, has been to promote the same values of individual responsibility, smaller government, fiscal conservatism and strong national security that Maggie’s List has represented for nearly a decade,” states Rosemary.

“We have a very strong message in this campaign — that New Jersey families have been failed by career politicians for far too long. It’s time to send someone to Washington who wants to fix our problems with a broken immigration system, rising taxes, out-of-control spending, threats to our health care and soaring costs for education. I will go to Washington to do something, not be something,” continues Becchi.
