Let’s Take it Outside

This glorious summer weather means that a lot of my classes are being taken outside. Whether to the beach on Camber Sands or to the lawns of Green Farm, we have been enjoying the extra challenge of uneven surfaces, the breezes, the sounds, the tranquility, the Great British outdoors.

Last Wednesday of the Month Club

Good news for those of you who come to my classes at Green Farm on a Wednesday evening. Bring your cozzy on the last Wednesday of each month and enjoy a free hot tub in the lovely surroundings of Green Farm Spa and watch the evening draw in.

The hot tub and sauna is free after class on 31 July, open to anyone attending Pilates. There’s also a 10% discount on treatments for that date only. Bring your own towel or hire one for £2 from Green Farm.

A Date for the Diary at The Whitehouse

On Thursday 25 July, 6pm I’m hosting the next Wellbeing at The Whitehouse event. Come along and experience a mindful movement workshop, mini treatments, delicious food and drink.

Strengthen with MJ of Core Pilates with MJ. Lengthen with Katie of Katie Can Yoga. Open your eyes and experience local eco friendly and ethical brand WiDEYE. Nourish your body with delicious food from Rosie of The Whitehouse. Booking essential, £38 per head.

Move of the Month: Shoulder Bridge

Lying on your back with knees flexed — knees and feet hip width apart and arms by your sides pals facing down:
  • INHALE to prepare;
  • EXHALE to hinge hips straight up into your shoulder bridge;
  • INHALE to bring one leg to table top, extend to the ceiling toes gently pointed;
  • EXHALE to flex your foot and bring the leg straight down, stopping when level with the other leg (keeping the hips high in the shoulder bridge point and lift and flex and lower the same leg 3 times).
… repeat on the other side:
  • INHALE stay in your shoulder bridge — levelling up the hips;
  • EXHALE hinge the hips back down.
… repeat the whole exercise x3.

Note: the challenge here is to keep those hips level and high. GLUTES ARE ON FIRE!
