Summer Reading Prizes now available!
Kids ages 0-18 who have completed their goal of reading 5 hours this summer can come in to Cedar Mill or Bethany Library to claim their prizes. Prize drawing winners will be announced late August/early September.

Junkyard Wars: Alien Invasion

AARP Smart Driver Class
Friday August 2 | 9am-6pm

Ages 50+
REGISTRATION REQUIRED

This is the nation’s first refresher course specifically designed for drivers age 50+. Course evaluations show that 97% of participants changed at least one driving habit as a result of what they learned. Registration is required and there is a fee of $20 ($15 for AARP members).  To register, please email instructor Bob Nix at nixrw@comcast.net.

VOLUNTEER
When you volunteer, everyone wins

Looking to do something meaningful in your week? Hoping to connect with like-minded people? Exploring options for a career? Volunteering gets you involved with others and engaged with your community and looks great on a resume. Just 2-3 hours a week makes a big difference at your library!

All summer-only positions have been filled. Check our website next Spring Break for Summer Reading 2020 positions! We are now accepting applications for positions with a six-month commitment.

Circulation: Calling all avid readers and organizers! Sort and shelve library materials. Weekday and weekend openings in Circulation at Bethany and Cedar Mill Libraries. 
Two-hour shift once a week. Ages 14+.

Book Check-in: Are you committed to literacy for kids? Help with Bookshare, our children’s outreach program that facilitates the sharing of books with young children at childcare sites.
Wednesdays, 11am-1pm at Cedar Mill.
 
Game Assistant for Library After Hours Events: Who says games are just for kids? Adults play, too! Volunteer to be a Game Assistant for a 21+ game night at a local pub to promote the library in the community, particularly among patrons in their 20's and 30's. Help set up and play board games and video games, engage the attendees, and help clean up.
One Sunday per month, 5-9:30pm. Ages 21+.
 
2nd Edition Resale Shop:  Consume less, reuse more! If you are committed to conservation and want to support the library, you may enjoy volunteering at 2nd Edition. Sort and prepare donations for resale, or help provide great customer service in the shop. Great for the planet, great on a resume!
One 3-hour shift per week, weekday and weekend shifts available. Ages 15+.
