Ann Ray accompanied me Monday morning to drop off all the goodies we collected for the Magic City Acceptance Center. They were received with great joy, just in time for MCAC Summer Camp next week. Thank you again for your continued generosity!

When I advertise Presbyterian Kickball (Southminster Presbyterian, Thursday, 5:30 p.m.), I really ought to mention that a group shows up each week just to hang out and watch. I can't really believe it either, but they seem to be having fun. So even if you don't want to play, come on down!
The Sixth Sunday after Pentecost brings us to the third and final installment of our focus on space worship series. We'll match the beautiful words of scripture to the most famous footstep in history, wondering how we can recapture such common purpose and inspiration in a world that is hard to impress.
Following Sunday School (Daniel 6 and beyond of the adult class), Session meets to receive two new members (!!) and make plans for the second half of 2019.
Speaking of plans, here are a few things to start thinking about:
August 18th will be our annual Blessing of the Backpacks (and briefcases and more)
August 21st will be our first Fellowship Supper -- just fellowship and fun
August 25th will be Rally Day -- a potluck in Barron Hall is on the docket
August 28th will be our annual What I Did on My Summer Vacation photo sharing bonanza
