Brinkmanship is the order of the day in the political affairs of nations, undermining peace. Amorality as the acceptable code for life shows its face in the downfall of a just and peaceable society.
When the Church loses sight of the authority of Scripture, reflecting a secular society, it loses its prophetic voice. Our nation need a prophetic voice, but as the Church endorses Satan’s question, “Did God really say?” its voice is muted.
Mercifully the Church of Christ is not confined to the human establishments of ‘Church’ and so Christians can speak out in the Name of Christ.
Loud voices drown out reason, but ‘the Word of the Lord stands forever’, and ‘a gentle answer deflects anger’. As Christians our confidence in is Christ, he is our strength and hope.
