Salutations <<First Name>>

It can be difficult to remain balanced and energised in daily life. With all the hustle and bustle of life. All those things we must do. Taking even just a few moments (however short) can be an excellent way to keep us grounded and centred. I shared a mini practice on facebook last month, please feel free to try it. Click here to see the FB post.

This month we look at positions we haven't explored for a while. Two classes look at back bends.

Weak back muscles and restrictive muscles at the front makes it difficult to sit properly. More of an effort mentally and physically is required which promotes incorrect posture. This can cause issues in various other places in the body as a result of improper alignment. Re-aligning the front to back balance in the various muscles and fascia helps to relieve aches and can enable an improved posture.

Increasing the Strength and flexibility, of the appropriate muscles groups, can combine to improve our natural posture. Whilst we are not looking at back bends the whole month, we are giving some focus to these import types of postures.

Thought of the Month

Each person has a place within them which is beyond all the troubles and turmoil that we expeience.

Yoga shows us how to access this place. Initially we might not get deep into that place, or maybe we only get partly there. Keep practicing the journey to this place. In time this place becomes you're refuge in the storm of life.

Try and sit still in a comfortable position (any comfortable position). Then watch the breath for a few minutes a day. Let the body breath for you. Watch your breath without expectation. This is one way to start you're journey.

Should toubling thoughts or emotions arise, accept, be with, do not judge or critize and let go into the stillness.

Meditation/Social Evening

For those who are interested our satsang/social/meditation evening is happening Friday. 7pm at our house, please ask for address/directions if interested. Please click on this link for more info or contact me direct.

Class Start Time and Late Arrivals
Class starts at 7pm.

Late arrivals are welcome to join the class. Should you arrive late please do not worry about being late. Simply wait until the posture section of the class starts and join as quietly as you can.

Remember the end of Om chanting there is silence and does not signify it’s okay to enter the room. Ideally its useful to arrive by 6.55pm so the admin can be completed before we start at 7pm. I understand sometimes it is difficult to get to class on time and I want to encourage you to attend class even if your late.

These guidelines will help us all experience the best class we can, even when life makes it difficult to arrive in good time. The same message has been added to the website.

Health and happiness,
Russell
