Do not mourn...Get Out the Vote!
DACC Members and Friends,
Our shipment of 1000 Get Out the Vote Postcards for Elizabeth Betancourt's campaign is in!
They are at Bill and Loree Monroe's house...234 W 4th Ave in Chico. Call (636 5952) and stop by to pick some up to do at home... or... join us from 4:00 to 6:30 PM Monday thru Friday this week for coffee, conversation and postcards. We can have a real impact in this election!
The Primary for the AD1 Special election is August 27th and the postcard message is simple...time to vote! The VBM ballots have already gone out, so it is very important to mail the postcards out this week.
Please see the attached messaging and in-kind donation form (for stamp purchases).
Elizabeth Betancourt is the endorsed Democratic Candidate in this race. Please check out her information and contribute to her campaign:

She is a great candidate who would skillfully and effectively represent Assembly District 1.
Only a bit of Butte County is in AD1 (Magalia, Sterling City, Yankee Hill and Berry Creek, which have 3334 registered Democrats) but the candidate needs all our support in her run for Assembly.

BTW...
August 9th
is the deadline to apply to become a 2020 citizens redistricting Commissioner.

There are restrictions on who can apply. For instance, Political Party Central committee members are ineligible.
This is an important role and one that only comes up every 10 years. Check it out.

August 27th DACC meeting...
We are going to all Vote-By-Mail in Butte County, and we have invited Butte County Clerk/Registrar Candace Grubbs to come and tell us all about it. She will be our August 27th meeting speaker and it will be a great opportunity to hear about the new changes from the source. As always...meetings are the 4th Tuesday of the month at 7:00 PM at Chico Library.

And...
There is an upcoming election with true potential for Democrats in Supervisor District 4. Sue Hilderbrand, a strong Democratic Candidate is endorsed by the Butte County Democratic Party Central Committee. She is opposed by two Republicans in what is essentially a "Purple" district. There is a real chance of Democrats regaining this district and flipping the Board of Supervisors, especially if Sue can gain 50% plus 1 of the vote March 3rd. Democratic turnout will likely be very high at this Primary and the hope is that people voting for Buttigieg, and Warren; Harris and Sanders, will also know to vote for the Democrat in the BOS race. This weekend I ran into Sue volunteering at the California Careforce event a Silver Dollar Fairgrounds supporting health services to her constituents. She is great!
Please help her financially: Sue's Actblue page
