 Don't Recycle...!?
Yes... you heard us right! People have often heard the phrase reduce, reuse, recycle; but not everyone is aware it's actually a hierarchy. When possible reduce, buy minimally and be less of a consumer; this is the best thing you can do to reduce our negative impact on the planet. However, if you've already bought an item, the next best thing is to reuse or re-purpose, rather than recycle, as this keeps products out of the waste system for longer.

The release of the IPCC report in October 2018 prompted the start of a shift in consciousness around climate change, from citizens, organisations and authorities alike. In the UK, multiple local councils have declared a climate emergency, along with the Scottish and Welsh Governments, and the UK Parliament. The move to declare a climate emergency has in many cases been followed by the announcement of an accelerated zero-carbon target. However, targets alone will not be enough.

A 10 Point Plan in Wales - Including CL
In April, the Welsh Government declared a climate emergency. They have now published a white paper detailing how the Welsh Government’s budget will support this ambition.

 The Big Leeds Climate Conversation
 On Tuesday the 16th of July, Leeds City Council and Leeds Climate Commission held ‘The Big Leeds Climate Conversation’, marking the start of a three-month consultation around the city aiming to raise awareness and action on climate change. The Commission wants to gauge and amplify levels of willingness amongst individuals to take action on climate change, as well as exploring what residents think about a number of bold ideas to cut emissions.
