Life with Dementia joins the circle
The latest member of the Alberta Podcast Network is a hopeful look at living well in a situation that may strike some as hopeless.
Life with Dementia is hosted by Johnna Lowther, an educator, therapist and consultant who specializes in helping people living with dementia have a good life. Often, creativity and the arts play a role in reaching people where they are, and helping them show what they can do instead of what they can't.
Johnna's network debut is slated for Aug. 22. Take a listen, and recommend the show to someone who needs it.

Podcast Brunch Club announces August theme
Alberta's first meetings of Podcast Brunch Club — like book club, but for podcasts! — take place this month!
The theme of this month's playlist is Secrets. Take a listen, and then come talk to fellow podcast listeners about what you thought.
The Calgary chapter, organized by Kyle Marshall of Putting It Together and Media Lab YYC will be having brunch for dinner on Aug. 20 at Luke's Cafe and then discussion at the Central Library.
The Edmonton chapter, organized by Lisa Pruden of The Well Endowed Podcast, will be held at 10 a.m. at Central Social Hall.
If you can't make it, for reasons of geography or timing, but you still want to participate, you can also join Podcast Brunch Club virtually.
And...
- Apple Podcasts has revised its categories, and they are now live on its site. Your podcast hosting platform should be able to help you update your category. Here are instructions from Libsyn and Blubrry. Transistor also supports the new categories, as does Fireside. This might be what you do on Anchor.
- Nielsen released some interesting data on listening habits in Canada. It says teens and young adults "are pulling back on their TV viewing and music listening as they consume more podcast content."

The August long weekend is upon us, which brings a little extra time to check out some new-to-you podcasts and check in with some old favourites.
This week's playlists are Alberta stories, Sports, Entertainment and Learning.
