THE JOY IN HEAVEN
OVER ONE

So he told them this parable: “What man among you, who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open field and go after the lost one until he finds it? When he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders, and coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, because I have found my lost sheep!’"

I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous people who don’t need repentance."

Luke 15:3-7

Sharing the truth of the gospel is how people hear there is hope. People in the scheme and in Scotland in general need to know there is hope for them. That they can change through trusting in a relationship with Jesus. Faith comes by hearing.

I’m thankful to say that this proclamation of the gospel happens week in, week out here in the Merkinch Free Church Plant. And when that happens, the Bible says that souls will be saved and lives will be transformed.

I see so many people reject Jesus as Lord, swapping him for another false god - the god of drink, drugs, money, crime, or comfort. As I get to know more and more people here, I learn to care for them as friends. That makes it all the harder when their lives are heading to total destruction. 

But one of my biggest encouragements over the past few months is Big Kev. We asked for you to pray for him in the last newsletter.

Shortly after that, Big Kev professed faith in Jesus. We had spent many one-to-one meetings talking about the Bible - who God is and who we are in light of that knowledge of God our Creator. There was a hunger and an urgency in Big Kev's desire to be part of God's kingdom and to be part of God's family. Today, Big Kev is now a secure child of God. Thank you for your prayers for him! All glory to Christ!
