Key Agenda Discussion Points
  • Discussion On Preparing For The IRCC's Ground Game in Cultivation of Competent Trainers -  IRCC Sponsored  'NRCA' Quality Trainer Conference (November 6 & 7) - Hayward.
  • Identification of Local Experts For Extending Qualified Certification Assessor Throughout California  (as national demand spikes)
  • A Look At CRU Upcoming  December Pro Cert Prep-Courses For Scheduled January (1/10/20) ProCertification  Testing forCRU Journeymen Installers of Low-Slope ThermoplasticAsphalt Shingles in Hayward
The IRCC Board of Directors is pleased to welcome the NRCA's  primary, boots on the ground,  technical point-man for the nationwide implementation & delivery of it's ProCertification program: Jon Goodman.

Jon's official title with the Pro-Certification effort is 'Subject Expert";  yet it truly understates his vital role in establishing set-up, coordination and manning viable testing environments and painstaking 'integrity' based protocols across the U.S. This involves maintaining instructional relationships with a variety of  ProCert  participants:  from individual contractors to manufacturers local and regional roofing associations,  such as the IRCC,  and distributor/supplier companies  that have signed on as accepted NRCA ProCertification
dual exam/performance assessment locations.

In other words, he has to do a lot of speaking, thinking, fixing and adapting on his feet,  to a diverse base of client NRCA members;  while assuring the high value outcome of a truly sound measuring system to assess competence in those specialty installations mandated by the NRCA's strict standard of proctored protocols.

Jon is at this meeting today not only to provide a overview of the ($25 million dollars in the making)  Procertification 'movement' as it begins it to gain national momentum; but to help prepare us for the next three months as the IRCC/CRU rolls out:
  1. Its trainer recruitment and training effort via the Qualified Trainer Conference (Nov 6 & 7);
  2. Its two focused collaborative CRU ProCert Prep classes scheduled for Low-Slope Thermoplastic (December 13, 2019) & Asphalt Shingles (Date TBD)
  3. IRCC Reserved testing date:  January 10, 2019 - Hayward, CA:  (selected/vetted/experienced IRCC registered journeymen) who will be first wave ProCertification 'certified installers' coming out of California!
We strongly urge all members of the IRCC including manufacturers, distributors and contractors make this important meeting.   We guarantee a valuable look at how each segment of the industry can be instrumental,  and strengthened by joining in this cooperative, 'industry driven' process.    And,  if at all possible,  contractors and associates are encouraged bring one or two prospective trainers,  assessor canditates and roofing superintendents who might wish to be in the selected mix of those to be certified in either exam/perfomance assessment upcoming in January.
