CUOSC Surgery
Our regular supporter surgeries return this afternoon, between 1.30 and 2.30pm before the opening league fixture against Crawley Town.
The surgery takes place in the Study Centre next to the Club Shop.
Come along and meet your supporter representatives or renew your membership.
Membership Year End - July 31
All members who have yet to renew were contacted this week. Thanks to all of you who have renewed so far. Your support is so important to us.
Important: Your current membership card is designed to be permanent. We will not supply a new membership card when you renew. Please keep your membership card in a safe place. We will soon start to charge a fee to replace any cards that have been thrown away.
CUOSC Board Meeting Summary - July

John Kukuc re-appointed as Chair, Frank Beattie as Vice-Chair, Alastair Woodcock as Secretary and Peter Harrington as Treasurer.
Billy reported from recent boardroom meetings, on latest financial projections and work being done at Brunton Park to prepare it for the new season.
Frank had attended the first AGM of the new merged organisation, the FSA, which had taken place last month in London. CUOSC now had 10 votes as a supporters' Trust. Various resolutions had been voted on, covering topics such as club licensing, environmental sustainability and the future structure of European competitions.
Finances remained stable with a bank balance of over £4k. Renewals were coming in at a steady rate. There were fewer non-renewers to chase up than 12 months ago. Today was the last day of the membership year.
The Board discussed anti-discrimination measures in football, the planned revamp of the CUOSC website, plans to hold another food bank collection and the need for surgeries on Saturday match days.
Date of next meeting to be advised by the secretary.

There has never been a better time to be part of United’s youth set-up.
While fans were focusing on Saturday’s opening league game at home to Crawley boss Steven Pressley has been running the rule over the ‘Brunton babes’.
Many of them have trained with the senior squad and have played a full part in the pre-season friendlies.
While to some extent it may have been forced on Pressley due to shortage of numbers it is clear he will do everything possible to aid their development and help them fulfil their potential
This must be music to the ears of Academy manager Eric Kinder and to the teenagers coming through the youth ranks.
If they are going to make the grade they have a great opportunity to do it with the Cumbrians.
There is nothing we supporters like better that seeing home grown players graduating into the senior team.
In the past youngsters seem to have hit a brick wall after a couple of years but things are changing.
Winger Liam McCarron has already moved on to Championship Leeds for an undisclosed fee after making his mark in the Blues senior team last season.
Josh Dixon, 18, won a two year contract before tragically being side-lined with a long term knee injury while second year youth team player Jarrad Branthwaite, 17, has also been handed a two-year contract.
Both didn’t look out of place in the summer friendlies.
They will be aiming to follow in McCarron’s footsteps but, hopefully, not before they have shone in a Blues shirt.
The rest of the academy players have seen what can be achieved and it will be interesting to watch who else progresses over the next 12 months.
Josh Galloway, son of former United midfielder Mick Galloway, has already caught the eye and there are a few others chasing contracts as well.
Meanwhile, fans will be eager to see Pressley’s new-look first team in action against Crawley. The Paddock will give them at least five minutes before they write them off…. only joking. But let’s hope we get off to a winning start.
CUOSC will be holding our first supporters' surgery of the season before the game. It is an opportunity to join or renew your membership. It is held in the Study centre, next to the club shop between 1.30pm and 2.30.

Finally, it was sad to hear of the death of sixties club legend Peter McConnell this week. He made just under 300 appearances in seven seasons and captained the Blues to successive promotions.
Close season update
With the new season starting today, there has been more activity at Brunton Park in the last seven days, to bring the current squad size up to 21 professionals. With Kelvin Etuhu and Josh Dixon out with long-term injuries, there are a maximum of 19 fit players doing battle for places in the squad. In addition, trialist Mohammed Sagaf and Academy starlet Josh Galloway are in contention for first team action.
Strikers Olufela Olomola and Ryan Loft, together with midfielder Canice Carroll were all loan signings this week. Aaron Hayden, after a trial period at the Club, signed a 12-month contract.

Some things may not be relevant at board meeting level but Jim has regular contact with various people at the football club and your issue will be raised with the appropriate personnel, should it require an answer from the club. As an attendee at meetings of Carlisle United Supporters Groups he has the opportunity to raise concerns, queries and issues in that forum as well. You can also raise internal CUOSC issues with Jim. If Jim isn't available, we will pass on your query to his deputy, Billy Atkinson. Billy is also your representative on the board of CUFC Holdings
