Hey <<First Name>>,

It's Saturday and we are in an entirely new month! As we finish our summer, let's focus on having more fun this month. Black women are no stranger to being exhausted, tired, and stressed out. That does not have to be the norm ya'll. We get to tell a new story.

It is revolutionary for us to make joy and fun the focus of your living. It is also necessary. Play, fun, joy..these are necessary to your life. Please don't disregard this important need.

So this month let's have more fun.  You know the kind of fun that makes you forget about your worries . The kind of fun that makes you feel re-energized.  I am not talking about what people say should be fun. Or things you have to convince yourself are fun. Nope. This is about exploring what YOU think is fun and doing it.

There is a challenge! Every single week, commit to doing something fun. It doesn't have to be complicated or cost any money.  Here are a few ideas if you aren't sure where to start:
  • Think about a game you liked to play as a kid. Go and play it.
  • Paint, draw, or color
  • Watch a funny movie
  • Dance around the house in your underwear (bonus: blast Lizzo as you do it)
  • Make funny faces in the mirror
  • Go to a store and try on some new clothes (you don't have to buy them to have fun)
  • Visit a local park
  • Try to cook with a new recipe
  • Take a nap (without setting an alarm?!)
Pease don't overthink this. This doesn't have to be perfect. Let it be messy. Let it be silly. You deserve it.

If you happen to post about what you do on social media, make sure to tag it so I can see it! Use #AllFunAllAugust or #UBGCollective
