PL799

4th August 2019

Seven hundred and ninety nine. That's the number of weeks and the number of newsletters that we have churned out over the last 15 years since we, the Shipway family, arrived back here on the mission. We came when we were called. We came to protect and restore this place, and we have done everything in our power to see this place flourish.

Finally, after 799 weeks we have seen what we hope to be the final major victory against our opposition (a local troublemaker was claiming to be the Secretary of the Mission board, and was attempting to kick our Board of Directors off the property).

Today our District Court upheld the orders of the High Court and Civil Courts and ordered that the trouble maker has no authority to speak or enter into litigation on behalf of The Good Shepherd Agricultural Mission. No more frivolous law suits! It's time to party!

Massive celebrations at our front gate as the legal team came home.
Clifton, Eugene, Malcolm, Sonia and Rick celebrate their victory!
There were loads of fireworks to set the mood...
...and let the whole world know!
799 weeks but every one of them was worth it for this moment!

After the initial jubilation at the gate dozens of phone calls went out, Facebook and Instagram messages were sent as friends and family from near and far joined us for a celebration dinner. This was promptly followed by a DJ dance party, pure Indian Bollywood style that so far has not ended.

Priscilla being congratulated by our dear friend Dr Umesh Kumar.
Dinner celebrations in the Dining Room.
Chicken curry, ice-cream and soft-drinks were just the fuel the kids needed for the dance party that was coming.

So tonight we celebrate. We shout. We sing. We cry. We laugh. We worship our God for his incredible protection and faithfulness. As the DJ dance party goes late into the night, rest assured we wish every one of you could be here with us to celebrate with us.

Dancing to celebrate is the way we do.
Everyone is having a wonderful time -except Clifton who is in the office behind that big light writing this. But don't feel sad for me, I have chorophobia (intense fear of dancing). I'm good here, safe in my den.

For all of you who have joined with us on this journey over the years we thank you. Your faith in us has meant so much. Join with us as we give praises to God for his mercy and grace, and look forward to many more years of peace here on the mission.

Blessing on you,
Rick, Clifton, Eugene & Priscilla
