THIS WEEK'S NEWS

OFF TO ANOTHER GREAT START!

Welcome Back Band of Gold Families and a very special "Welcome Aboard" to our new Band of Gold Families!

The new marching season is off to a great start. Everyone, students and adults alike, are working diligently to make this a terrific season! We appreciate everyone's efforts for the band and have a spot for anyone that wants to get involved.

Football games, (and hopefully football weather), will be here before we know it. Let's all chip in and make this the best Band of Gold season EVER!!

To help make things be the best they can be, we ask each family to donate a case of bottled water and a bag of candy.  The water is for the kids for each game throughout the season and the candy for the kids coming back from away games.  You can drop it off at the pickup spot after practice.  Thanks!!!

If anyone has any questions or concerns please let us know!

BIG SHOUT OUTS!

Thanks to all of you who helped make Band Camp and the start of the new season go so smoothly! We recognize all the time and effort each of you invest and you are appreciated.

Special Shout Outs to...
Tammy Fulmer (T-1): Head Chaperone made sure all the kids had supervision.
Tammy McAninch(T-2):  Made sure the registration process went smoothly for all.
Rebecca and some recently graduated BOG alum: got all the students fitted for their uniforms.
Shannon: Our awesome A/R Treasurer has all the accounts up to date.
MIB-Men/Moms in Black: Trey Headrick, Matt Abbott, Brian Finley and Dave McAninch have been working on equipment repairs and the set for the new show.
Niki Astor and Melissa Harper: Guard Liaisons, have Color Guard ready to roll.
Brandi Buffington: Senior Parent, helped the Seniors kick off their final BoG year in Style.
Tracy Gibson and David Astor: TWIB Masters, are keeping you well informed!
Murlene Feltus: Keeps the CHOP TEAM going.
Dani Oren, Kathy Barfield and a bunch of others:  Kept the kids well fed for band camp.
David Barfield:  Awesome photographer who's captured some great pictures.
Kimberly Sullivan and Jennifer Goodner: Middle School Liaisons, have smoothed the 9th grader's transition.
Laurie Genivish: SCRIP Coordinator has SCRIP rolling for all that account credit you can earn.
Many, many others have contributed to the workload as well. Too many to count! We appreciate you all!!

As you can see there is a ton going on behind the scenes! All these people were once on the sidelines too. Get involved and share the experience with your BOG student! You won't be sorry and neither will your student. (even if they don't admit that!)

2. Mail a check to P.O. Box 671051 Marietta, Ga. 30066, bring a check to the upcoming parent or booster meetings or send in a check with your child and they can put it in the black box in the band room.

 CHOP TEAM UPDATE

As of July 31st the CHOP TEAM has brought in over $60,000 this season. Thanks to our Partnership with Sprayberry Cheerleading and the Pope High School Band we have stuff flying off the shelves at the stadium. Hoping to top $100,000 in commissions by the end of the season and maybe the play-offs too!

GIANT thank-you to the 30 CHOPPERS that came to the stadium last Saturday and helped us with extra stands!. Between the 8 locations we ran that night we will be getting commission on over $54,000 for that one night of work! We ROCKED it!!

Way to go CHOP TEAM!!!

The team still has space and there are 24 games left for the season if anyone wants to hop on deck and knock some of your band fees out the park! Please contact Lynne or Murlene at the information below.

Training sessions are 8/6 and 8/27 starting promptly at 6 pm. You just need a Cobb County Alcohol Permit and your driver's license or state photo ID to attend.

Please contact us directly if you would like to register for training and join the team.
