For some that means back-to-school sales, but for us it means two great celebrations of our Blessed Mother: The Assumption and Queenship. For all that we don't concretely know about these mysteries, the precise details that is, we can still profit greatly by just contemplating what we can witness in them.
In a sense, it's the perfection and fulfillment of her vocation to follow Christ entirely. Catholics can sometimes forget, owing to over-familiarity, that Mary wasn't just Jesus' mother, but his best and most faithful disciple. All that our Lord promised to his true followers, their own bodily resurrections at the end of time, was to be seen in Mary's Assumption. Taken to Jesus, body and soul, now she reigns as Queen interceding as a mother for us, her children too.
