AUGUST 08 COFFEE IN ITALIAN CULTURE
Thursday, 1:00 PM, at the Wofex - SMX Convention center
The PIA was invited, again, by the Barista and Coffee Academy of Asia to participate in the Wofex 2019 and give a short introduction about one if the most emblematic features of Italian culture: Coffee (drinking).
AUGUST 24 (5 to 8 PM) - TRE SECONDI VELOCI - Three quick meat dishes
PIA - Makati
Second to the last of a series of 5 culinary meetings with Chef Salvatore Arria in which we will learn to cook a complete, tipically Italian, menu: from the appetizers to the dessert.
This session will be focused on 3 easy meat dishes: Saltimbocca alla romana, Chicken filet with lemon sauce, Pork Scaloppine with wite wine.
The program includes a cultural intro, demo-cooking, and FEASTING.
AUGUST 27 - 5 PM
Movie screening: IL GATTOPARDO Manila House - BGC
The Philippine Italian Association is partnering again with Manila House to celebrate a must-know of the Italian cinema: The Leopard (Il Gattopardo) by Luchino Visconti.
The Manila-based Italian filmmaker, Mr. Paolo Bertola, will help in unfolding this masterpiece and in understanding the socio-cultural background of the Italian Unification.

Tickets for non-members of Manila House are at P500 only.
AUGUST 30 - SEPTEMBER 01 INTERNATIONAL SILENT FILM FESTIVAL
Now at its 13th edition, the ISFF in Manila will move to BGC (Taguig) where it will be hosted by SM Aura, at the Samsung Hall.
As every year, ISFF2019 got a very rich program AND admission is free (first come first served). The festival will start on Friday (Aug. 30) with the Philippine movie. The following day, Aug. 31, the cine-concerts of Japan, Spain and Italy will be preceded by a lecture by Nick Deocampo on the Beginning of Cinema in Asia (1:30 PM). Germany and Austria will close the festival on Sunday, September 01.
Schedule: Morning (9 to 12) Monday to Friday. From August 08 to September 30.
36 sessions (of 3 hours) - 108 hours.
PHP 15,000.00 (including handouts; free orientation on job opportunities for Italian language speakers; free access to the PIA's library and video-library; final exam.)
