Generosity Report

July is nearly over and SARG has been planning some fun things for the end of the summer. On August 18th please join us at Melton Lake for our Thank You Picnic! from 12-4. Bring the pooches on leashes and plan to have some good food, laughter and some yard games. We had such a great time last year and hope to continue this tradition for several years to come.

SARG has also added a Mast General adoption event for Aug 10th from 10-2. We love partnering with Mast General Store on Gay St. in downtown Knoxville. We have been lucky to have several animals find forever homes from our time there. Hopefully you can come out and see us.

The annual yard sale doesn't have dates yet, but we will be sure to keep you posted on our progress. Thanks for all your support and we hope to see all of you soon.
All of these donations have come in to SARG by May 31st 2019. Thank you everyone who supports our work. We hope you enjoy reading the stories this month.

Looking for a Cat?
Have you been contemplating a furry companion? Maybe a kitten or a mature cat? But how to choose the right cat for you? Here may be some things to consider.

  1. Schedule – Do you work from home? Are you running kids everywhere in the evenings? Or maybe you’re a homebody and like to snuggle up watching TV or reading a book?
  • It’s important to choose a cat whose needs match with the time you can give. An older cat doesn’t need as much attention as a kitten who can require lots of time.
  • Do you have other animals in the home that may require attention too?

  1. Household personality- Do you have boisterous children in your home or is it a quiet and tranquil environment?
  • Some cats prefer lots of activity and others not so much.

  1. The Cat's Personality
  • Shelter workers or foster parents can tell you a lot about the cats in their care. Information on temperament, if they don’t mind other animals, if they prefer to sit on a lap or be more solitary. Listen carefully and you will choose a perfect match.

  1. Look beyond Looks
  • It’s easy to fall in love with the big eyes of a kitten or the color and markings of their fur, but please consider all the aspects of the kitten or cat. To be successful you need to consider all aspects of adopting to find just the right fit for you.

Good luck in your search!
Here are two SARG animals up for adoption with very different needs. SARG tries to match each animal up with the perfect home.

Mocha - Fun and playful. Loves to play with other cats and kittens. Will have longer hair. Settles down for a nap on your lap in the evenings.
Aurora- A total snuggle bug! Wants to be around people all the time. Will be your little shadow. Would love to be an only cat. Short hair, doesn't shed much.
