Life Long Achievement Award

• A dedicated individual who has volunteered for at least 20 years, has inspired other volunteers and/or led volunteer initiatives.

Volunteer of the Year Award

• A dedicated individual who has gone above and beyond in supporting our community throughout the 2018 – 2019 year and has inspired volunteers, has led volunteer groups or has made other exceptional achievements through volunteering.

Emerging Leader Award

• Recognizes youth volunteers 18 years and younger who have demonstrated leadership and helped build a stronger community throughout the 2018 – 2019 year.

Community Recognition Award

• A dedicated individual who has volunteered in our community in the 2018 – 2019 year.

Participate In The Youth Volunteer Challenge! 

Participate in the Youth Volunteer Challenge for a chance to win a grand prize!

• Volunteer 5 hours between the months of July 1 – August 31, 2019.
• You must be 18 years or younger to participate.
• You must complete the Youth Volunteer Challenge Tracking Sheet.
• No compensation can be accepted for hours included in the Youth Volunteer Challenge.
• You must have not-for-profits, charitable organizations and businesses sign off on volunteer hours.
• There is no limit on the amount of Youth Volunteer Challenge Tracking Sheets that can be submitted (5 hours per sheet).
• Youth Volunteer Challenge Tracking Sheets must be submitted via email to abergeron@peaceriver.ca or to the Town of Peace River Community Services Office by Tuesday, September 3, 2019.
• Youth Volunteer Challenge Tracking Sheets can be found HERE or at the Town of Peace River Community Services Office.

The Community Foundation of Northwestern Alberta is pleased to host the RBC Future Launch Community Challenge, and to make up to $30,000 available to youth-led projects in Northwestern Alberta that will respond to one central question:

What is your boldest idea to respond to an urgent local need?

· Are you between the ages of 15-29 ? 
· Do you have bold ideas for how to help your community? 
· Are you keen to develop new skills, gain experience, and build relationships while addressing an urgent local need? 

You could receive a grant to make it happen with the RBC Future Launch Community Challenge. Find out how you can apply HERE or call the Foundation office at (780) 538-2820.

Volunteer With Alberta Health Services 

Volunteers are needed to help with various volunteer programs at the Peace River Community Health Centre and Sutherland Place Nursing Home. Programs include bus outings, certified feeders, pet therapy, friendly visitors, tray delivery, arts and crafts, palliative care etc. Volunteers must pass a criminal record check and fill out other required paperwork.

Fall Parade of Programs! 

Registration is open for our Fall Parade of Programs. The event will take place on September 7, 2019 at Chateau Nova in Peace River from 1:00pm - 2:30pm. To register you must come into the Town of Peace River Community Services Office during business hours.
