We have had a busy summer filled with making and talking about publications. Brett discussed our publishing history with Florian Wüst from Berliner Hefte at Books People Places in Berlin (upper left). Marc traveled to Vancouver for "At Least Five Difficulties: A Symposium on Artists’ Publishing" at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and facilitated a closing discussion titled: “Can Artist Publishers Be Useful?” (upper right). Our good friend, and long time collaborator in Temporary Services and co-founder of HLP, Salem Collo-Julin, now works for the Chicago Reader and unearthed this old photo of us from the weekly paper (lower left). And, we have been putting a lot of work into Susan Snodgrass's forthcoming publication with Half Letter Press on the life and work of the Midwestern radical architect Ken Isaacs (lower right).

We have sold two-thirds of our fourth printing of Trying to Make the Personal Political: Feminism and Consciousness-Raising. If you were thinking of ordering this publication for a class this fall or winter, now is the time to get one.

Brett will be attending STL SPEX. It is an exposition of zines, chapbooks, lit mags, poetry, comics, small press authors, indie publishers, and print culture. The St. Louis Small Press Expo is on AUGUST 17th, 2019 at the Saint Louis Public Library Central Library at 1301 Olive Street, St. Louis, MO.
