Always a lot going on when we arrive back after holidays! Please be mindful of classes trying to work in the foyer areas, and keep noise away.

This term has seven teaching seminars in seven weeks! Starting in week 1 with some creative inspiration - "Teaching Creative Journaling" (details below).

THURSDAY 1 AUGUST, 11am, Library Room @ Massey Leisure Centre. Creative Journaling with Lucy Perin. "An Introduction to Journaling for Parents Who Maybe Aren't as Creative as Their Kids Would Like Them to Be." A workshop about teaching creativity & being inspired as teachers. For students in Bayley's Coding, Minecraft or Roblox classes, please make sure your computers are FULLY CHARGED BEFORE THE CLASS. There's only one power point in the room and we don't want to overload it. Thanks!

Little House Unit Study with Dorinda Duthie. "Learn about books in the series, prequels, sequels, background books, books about American & NZ pioneer life. Come & see the tools Pa would have used, clothes that Ma would have made & other original, similar items. Bring your children in to see these displayed in the lunch break." What is Irlens? with Sandy McGivern-Butler. "Ever seen or heard of words moving on a page or doing other strange things? Ever gotten to the end of a page with no idea what you’ve just read? Seen people wearing coloured glasses and wondered what that’s all about? Have a reluctant reader and wondering if there’s anything you can do to help? Come and hear what Irlen’s Syndrome is, how it can show up and affect people, and how we work out if it’s having an effect on someone or not (and what the coloured glasses are actually for!)"
