... Everyone looks forward to our monthly gathering at the A&W. Great food, old friends, cool cars and chatter. Lots of Chatter. I, personally, have a slightly different perspective. Because it is my self assigned responsibility to lead a meeting that keeps you informed and provides members a forum to participate, I always anticipate failure in that duty. It seems that every month there is a competition between attentive members and those who don't care about the meeting content and continue to chatter. All this private talk and comment means others are distracted and can't hear what was said by whoever has the floor. This ongoing disrespect for myself and the members who came for a meeting cannot continue. If you don't care about the meeting, I understand, and you are free to take your conversations outside. If you remain, we need everyone to pay attention and participate. We will begin by offering 50/50 tickets at 4:00. At 4:30, the room goes silent, and we will begin the meeting. Everyone will have the opportunity to comment, suggest or announce to the group. The big finale is the drawing of a winner for the raffle.

The Group is staging in front of the Elks Lodge (Craig’s BBQ) in Florence at 6:45 AM. We are leaving at 7:00 AM
It is about a 60-mile trip. We recommend that you bring your canopy’s, umbrellas, sunscreens, water bottles and appetite to enjoy the show.
The beer garden will open at 11 a.m., then it’s time to line up for New York steak. Meals will include corn on the cob, salad, garlic bread and a drink for $14. For smaller appetites, a hotdog meal will be available for $7, including corn on the cob, chips and a drink. Complete Info HERE

Here is a fun Event coming up August 10, after Cars/Coffee
Jayne Smoley is having a Stand Around and Art Show, featuring the Photography of artist Jon Grass and the photos he recently took in Cuba of their surviving American Cars.
Jayne would like to show some of our cars to help set the scene. There is street parking for about 10 cars, plus more across the street. Doors will open a little before 3 and the event ends at 5. They will provide live music, refreshments, and appetizers. All car participants will be entered in a drawing for one of the artist's prints as a thank you for coming!

• Darleene Barns wants to sell Gary's Fabulous '57 Chevy 454 Pickup.
Price is unknown but worth it.
• Darleen also has a 6 Cylinder Packard engine. Specs unknown. Sounds like a Rat Job to me.

The Rhody Cruisers had a busy 2018.
We attended dozens of Car Shows, bringing Glory and Booty to our humble group. We quickly organized a Stand-Around Show for visiting guests in June. We helped with Wings & Wheels, and made a major contribution to Rods 'N Rhodies. We participated in the Rhody Days Parade, and paraded to honor our Veterans last month. Together we brought in donations of Christmas Joy for those in need. We paid our respect to those folks being cared for at Spruce Point and Shorewood Living. I am very proud of our little club, and look forward to another year of community support, good times, and good friends. One of the best things we do is to meet monthly, and toss around ideas about upcoming events. Our around-the-room discussions are fabulous. Many thanks for that go to ...Ann, and the great staff at the A&W.
