The Word 02/08/19
Dear friends,

It’s hard to believe but there is only 4 weeks left to join the Melbourne Pilgrimage to the Australian Catholic Youth Festival in Perth! This year you are invited to come onboard with Melbourne’s all-inclusive packages whether you are a group (parish, school, community or movement) or an individual (Year 9-30 years). So stop waiting and come to Perth – Australia’s sunniest city* and home of the 2019 Australian Catholic Youth Festival!

-  The AOY

*True fact! Perth averages 8 hours of sunlight every day!
Registration
Registration for the Melbourne pilgrimage closes on 31 August 2019 (yep 30 days!) at www.cam.org.au/acyf19. The great news is that if you are a student enrolled in a Catholic Secondary School within the Archdiocese of Melbourne, regardless of whether they are attending the Melbourne Pilgrimage with their school, another group or the Melbourne Collective Group (MCG) you are eligible for a 50% subsidy. Applications must be received by 11 August – further details available HERE. Watch Mimi Lee (below) talk about why you should register today! Also, applications will soon be open for pilgrims who are not eligible for the Catholic Schools subsidy to receive financial support. Details will be released shortly – stay tuned to our website for more information!

Guest speakers
Several of the key guest speakers have been announced, Katie Pejean-McGrady (US speaker, podcaster and author), Joe Melendrez (musician and speaker), Fr Rob Galea (no explanation required), Grace Forrest (co-founder of the Walk Free Foundation), Archbishop Tim Costelloe and Bishop Columba Macbeth-Green. Plus: Thérèse Nichols (inspiring entrepreneur and co-founder of One Plate), Mario Borg (Director of 24:7 Youth Ministry), Sabrina-Ann Stevens (Indigenous women and NATSICC National Youth Councillor) and Dr Dan Fleming (ethicist, theologian and author who deals with some of life's big ethical questions on a daily basis).
Other ACYF bits
