Grace to you, and peace...
Y'all are so cool. And I love when you tell me the cool things you're doing so that I can share them. Last week I told you about Gatos and Beans, the cat café from Kelli and StephenSteward.
And now DarganWare has written a novel. It's called The Legend of Colgan Toomey. You can even buy it online. Dragon is doing a reading and book signing from 2-4 p.m. this Saturday at my favorite local bookstore, The Little Professor in Homewood.
Okay, cool folks, what else is up?
We gather on the Eight Sunday after Pentecost to worship together. We'll hear from the letter to the Hebrews and sing one of my favorite hymns. We'll also welcome Annette Calamusa and Sabra Hatch into church membership! At the close of worship, we'll have a brief Congregational Meeting, called by the Session.
There are two items on the agenda: the election of the Officer Nominating Committee, and congregational approval to change the timing of terms for Elders and Deacons to run October to September.
Sunday School is on hiatus this week as we've been invited to join First Presbyterian Birmingham for a potluck lunch and conversation with their special guest, the Rev. Scott Clark, co-moderator of More Light Presbyterians. I've heard that at least a few folks are planning to join me in paying our downtown neighbors a visit, welcoming them to the More Light party!
