There are plenty of permits still available for the firewood sale at Walker Ranch this Saturday, Aug. 3, from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m! We can't take cash, so don't forget to register before you come!
This sale will be held at the Meyers Gulch Trailhead at Walker Ranch, near Gross Reservoir. It will be conducted a bit differently from previous years in that the wood will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. There is enough wood for everyone, but those who come earlier will have a greater chance of getting the lighter, straighter logs, as well as some pre-cut pieces. There are no separate time slots, so just show up anytime within the designated sale hours!
The wood was cut last year and is still very heavy, so it is strongly recommended that you bring a chainsaw and ALL required personal protective equipment (ear and eye protection, gloves, chaps, and boots).
Each permit, or ticket, costs $10 and is good for one truckload of wood (up to 1 cord per ticket). So regardless of whether your truck can carry a 1/2 cord or a whole cord, buy one ticket for each cord you plan on taking. Please read ALL the fine print on the permit page. There's a lot of really important information there!
