Health conditions within Detention centres are at their worst. Currently there are hundreds of mentally and physically unwell asylum seekers with no adequate access to health care. So how can you make a difference?

AGHI, known as the “NLDS of Global Health”, will turn your #PassionIntoAction! It’s a 3-day hands-on advocacy workshop, focusing on Refugee Rights and Health. It’s a super fun, intimate, enlightening, interactive event that will benefit you whether you’re a beginner or expert on refugee rights and health! You'll be learning directly from key advocates in the field and make #frenz with like-minded students.

Global Health Forum is AMSA Global Health's biannual national meeting, where representatives from each of Australia's 22 global health groups gather to discuss, collaborate, and upskill. It's the 'AMSA Council' of global health!

NSW bill to decriminalise abortion.

Introduced last week, this historic bill to decriminalise abortion in NSW has been passed by the NSW Legislative Assembly at 59 votes to 31 votes. From August 20th the bill will need to pass through the Legislative Council as the final step in decriminalising abortion in NSW.

This bill will allow abortion on request for women up to 22 weeks' gestation performed by a registered doctor. Women beyond 22 weeks would need the consent of two doctors. NSW is the only state in Australia that has not decriminalised abortion.
