Mall Event Benefits District 73 Students
A snake, an African bullfrog, a coati, and a duck were just a few of the animals introduced to the crowd at Tuesday's WILD Back to School Event at the Hawthorn Mall. Parents who donated backpacks with school supplies received $15 gift certificates from Barbara's Bookstore. If you missed the event, you can still drop off backpacks with supplies at Barbara’s Bookstore in the mall and receive a gift card through August 6. The supplies will benefit District 73 elementary students.

Meet with Our New Superintendent
As Hawthorn 73 plans for the future, Superintendent Pete Hannigan would like to extend an invitation to meet with him. He is happy to meet with Hawthorn stakeholders at a time that is convenient for you. The meetings will be general in nature, using the following questions as a starting point for discussions:
- What are you most proud of in Hawthorn 73?
- What should be my top priorities as your new superintendent?
- What are your expectations of your new superintendent?
If you have any questions for him, please bring them. His hope is that these meetings will last around 30 minutes and provide him with a nice understanding of the needs of our community. Everything you share will be kept confidential, so please be as candid as you would like to be. If you are interested in meeting, please send an email to elftmannb@hawthorn73.org to schedule a time to get together.
