POSITION OPENING: GIS SPECIALIST
This person will be responsible for the agency's GIS data acquisition, classificationand interpretation. You'll work with developers and staff on the implementation of NFS’s database. You will also help other team members accomplish critical projects, tasks, and strategic planning for Nebraska's forest resources.
Posted Salary: $43,354/yr. minimum

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in geographic information systems
- Bachelor's degree in geography
- Bachelor's degree in natural resources or equivalent field
- One year of experience in forestry mapping and use of GIS software for map creation
- Knowledge of: the general principles and techniques of GIS; GIS software; and Microsoft Windows

Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in geographic information systems
- Master's degree in geography
- Master's degree in natural resources or equivalent field
- Two years of experience with: ESRI GIS software, GIS analytical techniques, and map creation with GIS software
- Proficiency with ESRI GIS-related software
- Knowledge of FileMaker or other database software
