MSDW Author Update - August 2019

Greetings,

Ice cream coneWe're writing to you with this MSDW author update because you have collaborated with us in the recent past, either writing an article, presenting a webcast, participating in an interview, or another activity.

Hopefully you don't mind us reaching out. If you do, then just unsubscribe and you will no longer receive these author updates.

With summer lumbering on (in the northern hemisphere, at least) we thought it was a good time to remind our past MSDynamicsWorld.com contributors that we're excited to collaborate with you on new ideas for the remainder of 2019. And continue reading for an update on our current efforts, future plans, and a few other thoughts.

What we're working on

After Inspire…

Given Microsoft has mostly ditched its media program at Inspire 2019, we didn't expect much of interest coming out of Inspire 2019 in Las Vegas. But plenty of news has emerged from the event like licensing and partnership updates that will be significant to the future of the business applications channel.

But Inspire also left much to be discussed:
  • What does Microsoft's model mean for Dynamics and Power Platform partners and their customers?
  • How did Microsoft's leadership perform?
  • Did attendees leave the event motivated? Discouraged? Surprised?

Digging into #MSBizApps 2019 release wave 2

We've seen strong interest from MSDW readers in articles examining the features coming to Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform in the October 2019 release wave. But our coverage has only scratched the surface so far. What features are you most excited about? What will have the biggest impact on existing customers? In the marketplace?

The business of Azure

You may have noticed we have been steadily ramping up our Azure coverage in recent months. Our aim is to continue to improve our reporting on the business influence of Azure in the Microsoft's ecosystem, and to report on strategic deals and interesting partnerships in the space.

It's an exciting time to be staking out a role in the Azure ecosystem and we invite you to work with us on new articles, podcasts, or even webcasts exploring the broad range of cloud services and their impact.

And more…

In addition to the areas mentioned above, here are themes and topics on which we are actively looking to work with contributors like you:
  • IoT scenarios and solutions
  • PowerApps and the evolution of solution development
  • Finance where I'm from (for various countries, various ERPs)
  • Upgrades: AX to D365 for Finance and Operations
  • Upgrades: NAV (or GP) to D365 Business Central
  • Cloud migration
  • GP solutions: Evaluating future investments

Top performing articles

Did you know that all contributing authors can see a report on how their articles perform on MSDW? If you don't yet have access to this information, let us know and we'll set it up.

Here are some of the top performing articles written by contributors in recent weeks:

What else?

Event coverage

In-person events are often a great source of inspiration for articles. Are you presenting? Attending and taking copious notes? MSDW will be covering both Directions EMEA 2019 and the User Group Summit North America 2019 in October. We welcome event-related articles from these and other events through the rest of 2019.

Did you know we have produced over 120 episodes of the MSDW Podcast over the last three years? They are fun to record, and the feedback has been supportive since the beginning. Interested in being a guest? You should! It's a nice way to reach another segment of our audience, including lots of influencers in the Microsoft channel.

Customer wins:

We love customer success stories from the Dynamics channel, but they can be hard for us to find on our own. If you have a project or client story that you think others can learn from, consider sharing. It doesn't need to identify the company to be informative and engaging.

Be in touch!

We hope to hear from you soon. Tell us what you're working on and your latest ideas from the world of Microsoft business apps.

Best Regards,
Jason Gumpert
