...When we last left our heroine, she was racing down the street...
I was on a quest to find a place where I could sit and breathe and cool off, right here on the avenue.
No hipster cafes on this block yet (which is fine by me) but I still needed some place to call home even to do a little bit of work, like this letter to you. No wifi required. Just a place to write.
I walked into one place. No good! It’s a heat advisory day and my entire head is wet from sweat, my curls mercilessly drowned! I go another couple blocks and get a cappuccino (decaf of course) and I can hear the air but something wasn’t right. Not comfortable. No good. No.
I NEED TO DRY OFF (is what I was screaming on the inside).
One more stop, I think to myself.
One more try.
AND SUCCESS!
It’s a bakery. A bakery from the last time I lived here, a familiar place from years back, empty at this hour, not the breakfast rush, and I can get another decaf (this street has overflowing decaf like manna from heaven for some reason) AND sushi for breakfast. The air is good. I look crazy and feel crazier with my wet head and red face, but the kind sushi chef and the owner behind the register tell me to sit down and cool off.
And I did. And now I’m writing to you, dear star lovers, cooled off, hair fluffed, and my fingers flying to bring you this NEW MOON IN LEO message.
This time is now, for us all. To sit back, cool off, and bask in the air conditioner. We survived Eclipse Season. We survived so many edgy crunchy July astrological happenings that really all we can do is catch our breath, count our blessings, and just be.
Maybe you have just one blessing. Just one. Count it. Remember it. Create an altar for it. There is beauty and redemption in the world despite EVERYTHING. Despite knowing better. Despite the suffering which is senseless and we wonder why we’re here. Can you find that one thing to rejoice in?
Here's a few of mine:
Bakeries still exist. Kind sushi chefs exist. There’s still a man behind a counter who says: please, sit down. There’s still love. There’s still a place to rest and call home.
The New Moon in Leo is tomorrow! Mercury will leave its retrograde status and go direct as well. ONWARDS WE GO!
On New Moons we set intentions - for what we’d like to have, what we’d like to let go. Anything we want really. No rules. Just with sincerity. Be careful what you wish for. New Moon magic is powerful!
And because the Moon (and Sun) are in Leo, it’s a huge green light that these intentions should be about YOU, what you want, gloriously, glowing.
