Vine Leaves Press July Round-Up

“A writer who waits for ideal conditions under which to work will die without putting a word to paper.”
― E.B. White
John McCaffery's latest posts for The Good Men Project, "Dunking Over Darwin," "Belly Gaffes," and "10 Short Stories By Men All Men Should Read," are mind-bending as always.
Mike Maggio's latest book review discussing Deep Past: A Novel has been published by Washington Independent Review of Books.
Christine Hillingdon's short story, "The Cross Road," was recently published by Page & Spine.
Ann S. Epstein's craft article, “Adverbicide: Must Writers Eradicate Adverbs?” was published online by The Woven Tale Press. The essay challenges the rule that writers should avoid adverbs. The editors expect the article to generate a lively debate, so please leave a comment.

To learn more about the events Ann captures in On The Shore and Tazia & Gemma such as desegregation in Topeka Schools after Brown v. Board of Education, check out her "Learning History Through Fiction" posts on her website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed
If you know of book clubs in the Ann Arbor, Michigan area that would enjoy reading Ann S. Epstein's books and inviting her to talk with them, they can reach Ann via the CONTACT page on her website. She's also happy to Skype with book clubs located anywhere else.
Adam Byatt was recently featured in an article published by The Sydney Morning Herald.  In it, he discusses how he balances writing with his life as a high school teacher.
Piper's Reach
The 2019 Washington State Book Awards has named Janet Buttenwieser's Guts as one of their Biography/Memoir finalists.

Dennis Palumbo, a contributor of Equality, was recently interviewed by Mysterical-E. The first chapter of his novel, Head Wounds: A Daniel Rinaldi Mystery #5, was also recently published on Poisoned Pen Press, an audio version of his short story, "Players," is available on Mysteryrat's Maze Podcast, and "Your Shrinks May Need to be Shrunk" was published in Suspense Magazine.
