Adult Forum:
Glencoe Youth Services

Sunday, August 11 following worship, Margaret Ann Pauuw, Executive Director of Glencoe Youth Services (GYS), presents on the vital impact GYS is making on the lives of North Shore youth. In addition to learning about GYS' work, attendees will brainstorm about ways North Shore UMC more intentionally can partner with GYS in its work.

Adult Forum: The Power of Vulnerability

Join us on August 18 after worship to watch, then discuss Brené Brown’s thought-provoking and funny YouTube video, The Power of Vulnerability. Brown talks about her studies of human connection -- our ability to empathize, belong, love – and how her research into this topic sent her on a personal quest to know herself as well as to understand humanity. After listening, Mary Figueredo and Lisa Goodale will help us reflect on what we’ve heard. Don’t miss it!"

Rummage Sale Collection Open!

This year's Rummage Sale is Sat, October 5. The church is now collecting items for the sale. Please drop items off during office hours of 9 AM to Noon, M-F. To arrange a special delivery outside of office hours, contact Rev. Barb Jarvore (bjavore@northshoreumc.com or (847) 828-7700). Proceeds go to help the church's budget + outside ministries supported by the church.

Rummage Sorting

Two Rummage Sorting Opportunities
Please join us, as you are able, to help sort through our mounting troves of rummage donations. We have two rummage sorting dates in August:
1.) On August 4 at 11 AM following the worship service.
2.) On Aug 18 at noon following the adult forum.
We will meet in the skylight classroom upstairs. Your generous donation of your time is greatly appreciated - even a few minutes will help greatly."

Pet Blessing Sunday

“And God said, ‘let the land produce living creatures,’ and God saw that it was good.”
Yearly, the congregation of the North Shore United Methodist Church takes time to ask for blessings and thanks for our four-legged companions and to rejoice in their presence or to remember them. As customary, we will gather on the front lawn of the church building to celebrate the fun-filled “Blessing of the Animals” service on August 25 at 10 am."
