The "Write" Stuff at Starbase Indy 2019!
Looking for an opportunity to hone your writing skills? Eager to write that story but have no idea where to start? Do you have questions about science, writing, editing or publishing that only an expert can answer?
Join Editor Deanna Sjolander of Rook Creek Books; Blake Hausladen, author of the Vesteal Series and other writing professionals in The Writers’ Room for a 3-day writing workshop at Starbase Indy this year!
The Writers’ Room workshop focuses on building story elements such as character, world building and story structures for the novice writer while providing a good refresher for the more experienced storyteller. We’ll also deep dive into more focused topics on genre, science and alternate history. You'll have the opportunity to ask science experts your difficult questions, pick the brains of professional editors, and talk to small pros who have run the gauntlet of small press problems and emerged on the other side.
All sessions will be one hour in length. Writing workshop sessions will feature a combination of lecture/discussion and writing time. The Writers’ Room will also host discussion panels, Ask the Expert Q & A sessions and host free writing time if you need a quiet place to create.

The Starbase's mainstage bridge was transported to the shipyard for maintenance last weekend. Here we see our intrepid volunteers surveying her battle damage. She needs some loving care, but we're sure our miracle-working Engineers will get her ship-shape before Thanksgiving weekend!
