This circa 1836 plantation homestead was the inspriation for Margaret Mitchell's 1936 novel Gone With The Wind, after she saw an advertisement for it in a newspaper. In Gone With The Wind, the house is named Tara and Scarlett O'Hara is left to keep it and the farm running during the civil war.

It appears someone has given the house a slightly "footballers' wives" style renovation but this would still be a good starting place to return some of it to its original style.
