Martyrdom of The Ninth Imam, Muhammad Jawad (AS)

Mu’tasam, the Abbaside caliph, called Imam Taqi (a.s.) and his wife, Ummul Fazl, the daughter of Ma’mun, to Baghdad. Imam (a.s.) went to Baghdad on twenty eighth of Muharram in the year 220 and was martyred in Zul Qa’dah in the same year in Baghdad. He was buried in Quraysh tomb beside the grave of his grandfather, Imam Musa Ibn Ja’far (a.s.). He was 25 years and some months then. Read more |

On Tuesday 23, July 2019 the ailing leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Zakzaky was diagnosed with some bullets in his brain aside the 7 complications he has been battling with since December, 2015.
The sexagenarian leader of Islamic Movement now uses a wheelchair as he cannot walk anymore. This is aside the high level of cadmium and lead that were discovered in his body recently by a toxicologist as a result of poisoning. Read more |

Nigerian troops kill 20 supporters of Sheikh Zakzaky

Nigerian security forces have killed at least 20 members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) during protests calling for the release of senior cleric Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the movement’s leader, this week.
Spokesmen for the IMN said on Friday clashes that erupted between police forces and protesters in the capital, Abuja, this week left at least 20 people dead. One spokesman said the death toll may be as high as 25. Read more |

Top Saudi court hands down death sentence to Shia activist from Qatif

Saudi Arabia's Specialized Criminal Court has sentenced an anti-regime activist from the kingdom’s oil-rich and Shia-populated Eastern Province to death, as a crackdown led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman against pro-democracy campaigners, Muslim preachers and intellectuals continues in the country.
On Monday, the Riyadh-based tribunal found Ali Al Rabie guilty in a “sham hearing” that fell short of international fair trial standards, London-based and Arabic-language Nabaa television news network reported. Read more |
