Outback Festival Celebrating 25th Anniversary With Bumper Entertainment Line-Up This September
With just over a month to go until it’s 25th anniversary, Australia’s quirkiest festival is coming back bigger and better this September 24th-28th. Coinciding with 2019’s ‘Year of Outback Tourism’, the small Queensland town of Winton is gearing up for what is set to be the biggest Outback Festival yet.

What began as a small town celebration back in 1972 has grown to welcome visitors from around the country every two years for a week of classic outback fun at Australia's quirkiest festival.

A bumper entertainment line up has been announced as part of the 2019 programme and will be a treat for Aussie music fans, with a host of established and up and coming artists ready to hit the stage. Festival goers can expect non-stop entertainment with daily live shows and major concerts to be held each night of the five-day festival.

Leading the way is Aussie Country music star Adam Harvey who’ll be taking to the Main Stage on Wednesday 25th September. The celebrated entertainer and country music purist has long been one of Australia’s most decorated country artists who you’d be crazy to miss!

In his footsteps is up and coming country star Brad Butcher, winner of the 2018 Golden Guitar New Talent and QLD Music Award. Brad will be joining the line up closing out the festival on Saturday 28th September in the Outback Thunda Concert.

The Friday Night Concert Series on Friday 27th September will be one for the whole family to enjoy. Central Queensland acoustic duo Innocent Eve will be kicking off the event at 7:00pm alongside the 1RAR Rock Band, Australia’s rock legends Frankie J Holden & Wilbur Wilde and the Absolutely 80’s band with Brian Mannix (Uncanny Xmen), Scott Carne (Kids In The Kitchen) and Dale Ryder (Boom Crash Opera).

Closing out the festival, the Outback Thunda Concert will be a night to remember with Australia’s pop Queens The Chantoozies and Brad Butcher performing with two of Australia’s best rock n roll tribue acts: ACCA DACCA and the Chili Peppers Tribute Band. These legends of music will be giving the festival a rocking send off on Saturday 28th September from 7:00pm.

“We are thrilled to have such an incredible entertainment line-up joining us for the 25th anniversary of Outback Festival, coinciding with 2019’s ‘Year of Outback Tourism. ” said festival organiser Robyn Stephens, OAM.
“Over the years Outback Festival has grown to be one of the biggest celebrations of the Australian outback and the outback community. We look forward to welcoming visitors to Winton for Outback Festival this September to join us in our celebration and enjoy the jam packed program we have in store for them!”

In addition to the rocking musical line-up, the festival will be hosting cooking demonstrations, children’s activities, evening light shows, an Indigenous Cultural program with workshops and so much more.

For the festival’s early risers, the Aussie Bush Poets breakfast events will take place over three days from 7:00am daily. Join host Marco Gliori, a former Naked Poet and recipient of the Spirit of Walzting Matilda Poetry Award, as he presents another series of hilarious mornings with Muz Hartin and Bill Kearns – these three characters will have you rolling in the aisles.
