Progressive Control Pathway Support Officer - PSO
6-8 August - Bangkok
The PCP Support Officer system (PSO) supports individual countries in advancing along the Progressive Control Pathway for FMD (PCP-FMD). PSOs are individual experts in the PCP-FMD who have experience in advising countries in disease control policy and applying a risk-based approach. The PSO initiative, supported by the GF-TADs FMD working group, aims at developing regional competences for FMD control and providing FMD endemic countries with tailored expertise for their progress along the PCP. Following the successful PSO workshop in March 2019 in Accra, co-organized with FAO Regional office for Africa, which helped identified PSO candidates for West and Central Africa, this 5-day workshop will be organized for the South Asian in Bangkok, with the strong support and direct engagement of FAO Regional office for Asia and Pacific.
