NIRA UNVEILS WINNERS OF THE 2019 .NG AWARDS

Friday, 5th July, 2019 was an eventful day for the Nigeria Internet Registration Association (NiRA) and its stakeholders as it hosted the 2019 .ng Awards at Nelo’s Place Event Centre, Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria.
The 2019 .ng Awards, the fourth edition, showcased Nigerian businesses, individuals, charity, public and private sector organizations that help to make the Internet a more secure, open, accessible and rewarding experience for all. The awards were open to any organization or individual using the .ng domain name, with credible online activities.

NIGERIA INTERNET GOVERNANCE FORUM 2019

On 11th July 2019, stakeholders from the Nigeria Internet ecosystem convened at Muson Center, Lagos for the annual Nigeria Internet Governance Forum (NIGF) themed, “Enabling Digital Commonwealth for Development”.
The event commenced with opening remarks by the President of Internet Society Nigeria Chapter (ISOC NG), Mr. Dewole Ajao and was followed by a welcome address by the NIGF Coordinator, Mrs. Mary Uduma. Mrs. Uduma spoke on the need to have all voices audible for leveraging the resources provided by the Internet and ICT in developing our country’s economy. Among the lineup of prestigious individuals invited to share goodwill messages was the Vice President of the Nigeria Internet Registry Association (NIRA), Mr. Toba Obaniyi who appreciated NIGF for organizing the forum and encouraged the Government to continuously empower the youth. Representatives from organizations such as the Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC), West and Central Africa Research and Education Network (WACREN) and Paradigm Initiative also delivered goodwill messages at the event.

A Message from The President
PRESIDENT’S SPEECH
We have in the past organized events, participated in several initiatives and embarked on projects in a bid to create awareness and keep the .ng brand in the subconscious mind of Nigerians and the entire world. Recently, we concluded the 2019 Web Hosting conference which attracted several participants from various parts of the country. Participants were enlightened on various aspects of web hosting and domain name registration by seasoned speakers from Garanntor Nigeria Limited, TF Host Nigeria Limited and Smart Web Nigeria Limited. We are grateful to all participants, our Accredited Registrars who exhibited and facilitated the program and our sponsors; Garanntor Nigeria Limited, Smart Web Nigeria Limited, Internet Exchange Point (IXPN), Medallion Communications, NITDA, UpperLink Limited, AdNaira  and Whogohost Limited for their support.
