Kelseyville Lumber is a proud sponsor of Grillin' on the Green, held on August 3rd at the Westside community park. It is a BBQ cook-off that features tastings from the grillers, along with sides of beans, salad, desserts and a bottle of water. Beer, wine, slushies, and other drinks will be available as well. Evolution of the Design Center
"My career for Kelseyville lumber began in 2005 and I found my calling working as the design center manager since early 2014. When I took on the project of bringing the design center back to life, it had been closed for over two years and was in sub optimal shape. Everything was outdated and in disarray and it took me a few months just to get it looking like it was a functioning part of Kelseyville Lumber. The first year was tough as I had never done a kitchen design in my life and I was completely overwhelmed at the task in front of me. With some encouragement from my cabinet rep I began the daunting task of learning to use the kitchen design program. When the valley fire hit in 2015, I was pushed into uncharted territory as new home plans were flowing into the lumberyard at a rate of 10 a week or more. I found myself designing kitchens faster than I thought possible and learning every step of the way. The design center started to grow slowly but steadily and I started adding new displays with the approval of the owner. Business kept growing and in 2017, due to the increase in sales for the design center, I brought on a second designer who has been instrumental over the past two years in turning the design center into what it is today. We now sell roughly a half million dollars’ worth of kitchen and bathroom cabinets a year not including countertops, flooring, blinds and tile. Between the two of us we have turned the design center inside of Kelseyville Lumber into a go to place in Lake County for Contractors and DIY consumers because of the level of help they are given. We take the time to talk to our customers and interpret their needs and wishes and help them turn their dreams into reality." -Beau Maddox
