Members of the public are encouraged to attend the Texas Department of Transportation’s monthly I-10 Connect community meeting to get updates on the project’s progress and upcoming traffic impacts.

The community meeting will be held at 5:30pm on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, in the Medical Education Building at Texas Tech University Health Science Center El Paso’s Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, corner of Rick Francis Street and Robert Brown Avenue. 

While that 27-hour closure is still more than a week away, work continues elsewhere on the project requiring the following traffic impacts:



Sunday, August 4, through Thursday, August 8
Nightly 9pm to 5am

• Ramp F which connects westbound I-10 to Juárez will close to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) to northbound US 54, take Exit 23 (Cassidy Road/Fort Bliss), take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), use the turnaround to re-enter southbound US 54 and follow signs to Juárez.
• Ramp G which connects eastbound I-10 to Juárez will close to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Take Exit 22B (US 54/Alamogordo/Juárez/Fort Bliss) to northbound US 54, take Exit 22B (Pershing Drive), us the turnaround to re-enter southbound US 54 and follow sigs to Juárez.
• Gateway Boulevard East will be intermittently closed to all traffic at Lincoln Center.

Crews will be preparing part of an exiting ramp for demolition. 

Sunday, August 4, through Thursday, August 8
Nightly 9pm to 5am

• US 62 (Paisano Drive) will be closed to all traffic at US 54.
• DETOURS: Eastbound traffic will turn right on San Marcial Street, left on Delta Drive, and left on Boone Street before returning to Paisano. Westbound traffic will turn right on Gateway Boulevard North, left on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), and left on Loop 478 (Copia Street) before returning to Paisano.

Crews will be working on an overhead bridge deck.

• Lane closures will be in place on eastbound US 62 (Paisano Drive) between I-110 and US 54.

• On ramp from Gateway Boulevard North to I-110 near the El Paso Zoo will be closed to all traffic.
• DETOUR: Continue on Gateway North, turn right on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), turn left on Raynolds Street to access I-10. 

Monday, July 29, through Wednesday, July 31 
9am to 4pm 

• On-ramp from Gateway Boulevard North to I-110 near the El Paso Zoo will be closed to all traffic. 

• DETOUR: Gateway Boulevard North, turn right on SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), turn left on Raynolds Street, and access eastbound and westbound I-10 at Raynolds. 

Crews will be working on the bridge deck. 

About the I-10 Connect Project

The I-10 Connect project is at the intersection of Interstate 10 and US 54 in El Paso County. The project extends from I-10 to Loop 375 (Cesar Chávez Border Highway) and provides access to the Bridge of the Americas (BOTA) via I-110. The $96 million project includes the construction of four new direct connectors, a full reconstruction of the I-110/US 62 (Paisano Drive) interchange, and removes exit ramps from US 62 to I-110.

I-10 Connect will improve connectivity between I-10 and Loop 375, also providing an alternate route to I-10. It started February 19, 2019, and is expected to be complete in less than three years.

• US 62 (Paisano Drive) estará cerrado para todo tráfico sobre US 54.
• DESVIACIONES: El tránsito hacia el Este dobla a la derecha en Calle San Marcial, izquierda en Delta Drive, izquierda en Calle Boone antes de integrarse al Paisano. El tránsito hacia el Oeste dobla a la derecha en Gateway Boulevard Norte, izquierda en SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), izquierda en Circuito 478 (Copia Street) antes de integrarse al Paisano.

• La rampa de acceso de Gateway Boulevard Norte a I-110 junto al Zoológico de El Paso estará cerrada para todo tráfico.
• DESVIACIÓN: Continuar en Gateway Blvd. Norte, doblar a la derecha en SH 20 (Alameda Avenue), izquierda en Calle  Raynolds para tomar I-10. 

• Cierres de carriles en US 62 Este (Paisano Drive) entre I-110 y US 54.

• Cierres completos diarios en Durazno Avenue entre Calles Bowie y Uva.
• La Rampa T que conecta Gateway Norte Boulevard a US-54 Norte al norte de US 62 (Paisano)permanecerá cerrada hasta nuevo aviso
